Dear youth, parents and interested church members!

WE WANNA LIGHT YOUR FIRE!!!

Hermitage Presbyterian Church is sending a mission team to Dunmore, West Virginia from June 13-19, 2010. Dunmore is 2 hours and 6 minutes away from Waynesboro! Check it out at www.grouppublishing.com and click on Missions.

Cost: The cost per person is $424.00 and this particular trip is for anyone 14 and older. The cost covers lodging and 16 meals.

Chaperones: Adults are welcome and are encouraged to go, whether you have kids in the youth group or not! We must have one adult for every five youth that go and we have to have a chaperone to represent each gender should we have both boys and girls go. A criminal background check will be conducted on each adult (age 21 and over). The church is responsible for purchasing and retaining the background checks.

Transportation: At least one van, maybe two depending on the size of the group. The van will be used to transport the team to Dunmore and once there to get from base to the work site daily.

Nature of the projects: The team will provide home repair at no cost for elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged people.

BIGGIES:

1) Each participant MUST have medical insurance and provide a copy of their medical information to the leaders.

2) Each driver of the van must have insurance!!

12 spots have been reserved, 8 Sr. High spots AND 4 adult spots!! Stephanie MUST have a definite answer by September 28, 2009, if you should decide to go!

This date is NOT NEGOTIONABLE...SORRY!

On September 30, 2009, Stephanie will need to provide a non-refundable deposit for $50 per person. The balance of the monies will be due in installments.

The church has agreed to pay $300.00 (each) for 12 people (youth and adults) and the remainder will be raised by the participants. So yes, there will be fundraisers and if you go you must help fundraise!! Promise it will be fun and well worth it!!!

Breaking it down:

The church pays $3600.00 towards the mission trip ($300.00 each for 12 participants)

The youth/adults pay $124.00 each- this would be raised throughout the year with the intent (hope) that no one will have to pay out of pocket ($124.00 * 12 people = $1,488.00)

The youth and adults raise the necessary money to provide transportation and gas!!!

Each participant is responsible for their own spending money!!!
